Aequitas Life
Our Story
Owner and Operator, Collin Heath, moved to Toronto from the United States in 2014, diving headfirst into the opportunities and challenges that come with big-city life. At just 26, Collin faced the learning curves that many young professionals encounter: navigating the complexities of a bustling metropolis, adapting to the fast pace, and finding his footing in an unfamiliar landscape.

"I worked hard—every single day—to build a life that felt completely new, different from anything I’d ever known, and I’ll be honest: it was tough. From mastering public transportation to managing a tight budget, to simply getting through the basics like grocery shopping, every day felt like a small victory. Over time, though, it got better, and somewhere along the way, Toronto began to feel like home.

One of the things that’s always kept me excited about this city is the food scene. I have a background in culinary arts, starting way back at 17 years old, but even now the sheer variety of Toronto’s food scene still amazes me.

In 2018, I took a bold step and returned to school, enrolling at Toronto Metropolitan University to pursue a degree in Professional Communications. Determined to make the most of this opportunity, I pushed myself to complete the four-year program in just two years—a whirlwind journey that demanded focus, discipline, and perseverance. Studying in the heart of downtown Toronto presented its own unique challenges, from managing the fast pace of city life to balancing school, work, and personal responsibilities. These experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of staying grounded under pressure. As a life coach, I draw on these lessons to help others navigate their own challenges with confidence and determination, empowering them to achieve their goals in even the most demanding circumstances.

After graduating, I went on to manage a sales team for a local microbrewery, which I grew from the ground up, year after year. Leading this team taught me the importance of understanding individual strengths, fostering growth, and motivating others to overcome challenges—all skills that naturally translate to mentoring and life coaching. In 2023, I decided to take a leap and channel those experiences into creating Aequitas Life. I’ve always believed that the lessons I’ve learned in leadership and personal growth can serve as a valuable guide for young people navigating their own journeys into adulthood."

Collin’s high energy and charisma are a big part of what makes Aequitas Life so impactful. His friends and colleagues will tell you: his tenacity and ambition are contagious. Collin’s seen his fair share of ups and downs, and he’s always eager to share his journey to help others find their way. That’s the spirit in which Aequitas Life was born.
