At Aequitas Life, we believe in supporting each student’s unique journey. We recognize and respect differences in family background, religion, and financial needs. To start, we conduct an initial assessment with the student and family to set foundational goals and identify key living necessities tailored to each student’s individuality.

During the assessment, we’ll establish elements like housing, budget, educational direction, and what we call “scaffolding and freedoms.” Our philosophy prioritizes the student's autonomy, so we don’t impose restrictive measures like locking down homes or limiting device usage. Instead, our approach focuses on guiding, educating, and empowering students to develop their independence. The assessment, held during a one hour online meeting, also identifies practical scaffolds that support the student in areas such as budgeting, cleaning, time management, education, groceries, and transportation.

Our mentoring and life coaching services begin at $4,000 CAD per month, with adjustments based on the specific level of scaffolding and support each student needs. Every three months, we’ll re-evaluate with both the student and parents to determine if service levels should be increased, decreased, or maintained according to the student’s progress.

We collaborate with families to secure an ideal living arrangement for each student, typically utilizing short-term rentals like Airbnb within Toronto. This flexible housing option allows students to move into a furnished home quickly, avoids lengthy rental commitments, and provides families with control over monthly costs, generally between $2,200 and $3,000 CAD. However, we’re always open to exploring alternative housing options that best suit individual needs.

A portion of the assessment focuses on budgeting. We usually recommend planning for an additional $1,000–$1,500 CAD monthly to cover essentials like transportation and groceries. For activities and personal spending, we suggest an additional budget of approximately $800–$1,000 CAD, adaptable to the student’s interests and requirements.
